The Jays lost 6-2 to the Angels tonight, ending their shutout-innings streak at 23.
Kyle Drabek lost his command pretty badly, walking five and throwing a few wild pitches. Adam Lind hit a homer to temporarily shut up all the haters, though, and Rasmus and Encarnacion had a couple of really hard-hit balls that were robbed of their deserved trip over the wall due to the “marine layer”, according to Zaun. Encarnacion’s cooled off a bit in this series, and Rasmus has had a bit of tough luck at the plate, although they’re both still swinging hard.
Infield defense was painful to watch tonight, with three errors officially scored but plenty more bad plays and mis-throws and mental mistakes peppering the game. Still, it’s one game, and we’re guaranteed at least a split in Anaheim.
For his part, CJ Wilson pitched really well (much to the chagrin of those of us who were too optimistic to start him in fantasy): eight innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits while walking 3 and striking out 9.
